The Hotel Astrid is located directly next to the ski slopes in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The final few hundred metres of piste number 51 lead right past our hotel down to the bottom of the Kohlmaisbahn cable car. No bus transfer, no car ride, no walk to the lifts – just doorstep skiing.
The Alpine World Ski Championships will take place in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm region in January 2025. To all fans: Welcome! To everyone else: don't worry, skiing will continue without limitations, only 2 piste sections in our huge ski area will be temporarily closed.
After a healthy and hearty breakfast in the morning, what better way to start the day than by clipping into your skis outside the hotel and cruising down to the nearby cable car giving you quick and easy access to one of Austria's best ski resorts? Heaven!
As the day draws to a close there is just time for one more run before skidding to a stop outside our hotel, stashing your skis in the storage room and heading up to your room for a quick shower before a relaxing session in the hotel spa.
Here at the Hotel Astrid we have a new ski storage area with CCTV and heated individual lockers for each room where you can dry your ski gear overnightready to do it all again the next day.
Sport Hagleitner has been our loyal partner since the very first days of Hotel Astrid. They are the ideal contact for sports equipment for purchase and hire, and our guests benefit from -10% on hire equipment!
Tip: if you pay in advance, your equipment will be delivered directly to our hotel and -15 on the online equipment hire!
Please note: Before hiring a bike, it is essential to adjust the desired bike to your height in the shop in order to guarantee the best experience. Bikes are therefore not delivered directly to the hotel.
The Sport Heugenhauser ski school offers private lessons, a children's ski school and group courses as well as equipment hire.

Ski in, ski out refers to the ability to access the ski slopes directly from the hotel and return from there at the end of the ski day - without having to rely on transport. Thanks to our favoured location in Saalbach, winter sports enthusiasts enjoy easy access to the piste and are in the Saalbach Hinterglemm ski area in no time at all.
Saalbach Hinterglemm offers many possibilities as a region. Après-ski fans can "draw from the full" in Hinterglemm in particular. There is a wide range of après-ski activities on offer there for a good party - from small umbrella bars to après-ski huts with live music and après-ski hits. Saalbach is a little quieter and cosier by comparison.
Saalbach Hinterglemm is connected to Leogang (Salzburg) and Fieberbrunn in the neighbouring valley (Tyrol) by pistes and lifts. Together they form the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn with around 270 kilometres of pistes. The best conditions for a holiday full of fun on the slopes!
Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Leogang enjoy good snow conditions. In terms of snow conditions, the ski area is one of the safest areas in the Kitzbühel Alps. In addition, extensive snow-making facilities guarantee huge fun on 90 % of the pistes even when there is little snowfall.
