Apres-ski and fast food were yesterday - chef Stefan Steger and his team are putting the cuisine at Hotel Astrid on a new footing and launching the à la carte restaurant Saalbach 626! On the menu you will find a creative potpourri of everything that is good - and not only on paper, but in practice great importance is attached to:

  • Regional suppliers for meat & fish
  • Responsible handling of food
  • Creative dishes based on old classics & fresh recipes

Young, crisp & regional

We get our pork from the Buchegg farm in the neighbouring village of Hinterglemm (10 minutes) and from the Maiser farm in Saalfelden (25 minutes).

We only have beef from the Maroldenhof (15 minutes). When the stock is eaten up, it's eaten up. Then we don't resort to cheap meat of questionable origin.

The brook trout come from the Schwaiger fish farm in the Vorderkaserklamm (45 minutes). It takes about 3 years from the egg to the adult fish, then the brook trout come to us in the kitchen.

Quality is our top priority, which is why we get the seafood and mussels delivered freshly caught to our house every 2-3 days.

Our chickens also come from the Maroldenhof (15 minutes). In the Astrid kitchen, we want to process the whole animal, not just individual parts. We therefore specifically tailor our dishes according to this principle.
